# Product Images

Meaningful product images are crucial for sales success. In this article, you will learn how to upload images, assign them to color variants, and use the integrated image creator.

## Upload Images

To add images to a product:

1. Open the product in the editor
2. Click on the **Images** tab
3. Drag your image files into the upload area or click **Upload Images**
4. Wait until the upload is complete

### Supported Formats

- **JPG / JPEG** - For photos (recommended)
- **PNG** - For graphics or images with transparency
- **WebP** - Modern format with good compression

### Recommended Image Size

- **At least 800 x 800 pixels** for good display
- **Square format** (1:1) is recommended for consistent product cards
- Note the **maximum file size** (displayed during upload)

> **Tip:** Use a consistent background (e.g., white) for all product images to make your shop look professional and consistent.

## Assign Images by Color

If your product is available in multiple colors, you can assign images to individual color variants:

1. Upload the images
2. Select the corresponding **Color** for each image from the dropdown
3. Save the assignment

In the shop, the appropriate image will then automatically be displayed when the customer selects a color. This significantly improves the user experience, as customers immediately see what the product looks like in the chosen color.

### Set Order

The order of the images determines which image is displayed first:

- The **first image** is displayed as the main image on product cards and in search results
- Additional images are available in the gallery on the detail page
- Drag and drop images into the desired order

## Approval Status

Images go through an approval process:

- **Uploaded** - The image has been uploaded and is awaiting review
- **Approved** - The image is approved for the shop
- **Rejected** - The image does not meet quality requirements

Only approved images are displayed in the shop.

## Delete Images

To remove an image:

1. Click on the image in the overview
2. Select **Delete**
3. Confirm the action

> **Note:** Deleting an image cannot be undone. Make sure you have selected the correct image.

## The Image Creator

The integrated Image Creator allows you to create professional product images directly in the admin:

### Image Creator Features

- **Templates** - Use predefined layouts for your product images
- **Add text** - Add product names or descriptions
- **Integrate logo** - Place your company logo on the image
- **Background** - Choose colors or patterns as background
- **Export** - Save the finished image directly as a product image

The Image Creator is particularly useful if you need appealing images quickly without having to use external image editing software.

## Gallery View in the Shop

You can control how product images are displayed in the shop in the Theme Settings:

- **Standard Gallery** - Large main image with thumbnails below
- **Grid Gallery** - All images in a grid side by side

## Frequently Asked Questions

**How many images can I upload per product?**
There is no fixed limit. We recommend 3-6 images per product for a good presentation.

**Are images automatically optimized?**
Yes, uploaded images are automatically provided in various sizes (thumbnail, medium, large) to optimize loading times in the shop.

**Can I copy images between products?**
No, images must be uploaded individually for each product.
