# Use Softwear Prints in Claude

The Softwear Prints connector gives Claude access to the catalogue of softwear-prints.com. You ask for products in a conversation, Claude searches the current range, reports prices and stock levels and links to the product page. You do not need a customer account.

Technically the connector is a server that implements the open Model Context Protocol (MCP). It is available at `https://mcp.softwear-prints.com/mcp` and also works in other applications that support MCP.

## Setup

1. In Claude, open Settings and go to **Connectors**.
2. Choose **Add custom connector**.
3. Enter "Softwear Prints" as the name and `https://mcp.softwear-prints.com/mcp` as the URL.
4. Save. No sign-in is required.

The connector is then available in every conversation. The first time it is used, Claude asks for your permission.

## Example prompts

Ask the way you would ask a sales assistant.

- "Which HAKRO polo shirts for women are available in blue for less than 35 euros?"
- "Show me softshell jackets with Oeko-Tex certification and tell me which sizes of the first one are in stock."
- "I need the EAN numbers for the HAKRO women's polo shirt COOLMAX ECO in the colour tinte, all sizes."
- "We are a sports club with 120 members and would like our own team shop. Please send the request for us."

## Tools

| Tool | What it returns |
| --- | --- |
| Search products (`search_products`) | Results for a search term, optionally filtered by category, brand, colour, size, target group, material, certification and price. Each result has the name, brand, article number, net and gross price, colours and a link to the product page. |
| Get product details (`get_product`) | Description, material, fabric weight, certifications and care instructions. EAN and stock level for every colour and size. Minimum quantities and production time for printing and embroidery. |
| List categories (`list_categories`) | The category tree of the shop with the number of products in each category. |
| Request an own shop (`request_shop_setup`) | Sends a request for your own online shop to our sales team. |

The first three tools only read data. The shop request is the only tool that sends data to us, so Claude asks for confirmation every time before it submits one.

## Prices and stock

All prices are unit prices in euros for the item without decoration, shown net and gross including 19% German VAT. Stock levels reflect the moment of the request. Nothing is reserved.

## Requesting your own shop

For a request Claude needs the name of your organisation, a contact person, an email address and the kind of shop: staff shop, club or team shop, school or university, merchandise, or event. Phone number, expected number of users and a message are optional.

Our sales team replies by email. An automatic confirmation of receipt may also be sent to the address you provide.

## What the connector does not do

- It does not calculate a price for a given quantity with printing or embroidery. We prepare a quote for that.
- It does not place orders or fill a shopping cart. To order, follow the link to the product page.
- It has no access to customer accounts, orders or company shops. Only the public catalogue of softwear-prints.com is visible.

## Privacy

The connector receives from Claude only the information a tool needs, such as the search term and the filters. It does not see the conversation. It works without sign-in, so searches are not linked to a customer account. As with any web server, technical access data is recorded, for example the time and the IP address of the calling system.
