Step-by-step guide to creating a new product in the Corporate Admin

Create Product

In this guide, you will learn how to create a new product in your Corporate Shop. We will go through each section of the product form so you know which fields are important and how to fill them out optimally.

Basic Data

Product Name

Your product's name is displayed in the shop, shopping cart, and on invoices. It can be maintained in multiple languages:

  • German (Required) - Main product name
  • English - For customers with English language settings
  • Spanish / French - Additional languages (optional)

Tip: Choose a precise, descriptive name. Avoid abbreviations that customers might not understand.

Description

The product description is displayed on the detail page in the shop. Here, too, you can maintain multiple languages.

Good descriptions include:

  • Material and Composition - e.g., "100% organic cotton, 180g/m2"
  • Special Features - e.g., "Certified according to GOTS standard"
  • Fit Notes - e.g., "Regular Fit, true to size"
  • Care Instructions - e.g., "Machine washable at 40 degrees"

Item Type

Select the item type that determines how the product is handled:

  • Stock Item - The product is in stock and shipped directly
  • Production Item - The product is produced only after the order (longer delivery time)

Minimum Order Quantity

If customers must order a minimum quantity (e.g., for printed items), enter the minimum quantity here. The quantity in the shopping cart cannot then fall below this value.

Unit of Measure

The unit in which the product is ordered - usually "piece".

Pricing

Purchase Price

Your internal purchase price for the product. This is not displayed in the shop but is used for internal calculation and in reporting for profit calculations.

Sales Price

The price your customers see and pay in the shop:

  • Enter the price in your shop's main currency
  • Depending on the setting, it will be displayed as a gross or net price

VAT Rate

Select the applicable VAT rate for the product (e.g., 19% or 7% in Germany).

Delivery Time

Enter the estimated delivery time that will be displayed to the customer on the product page (e.g., "3-5 business days" or "2-3 weeks for production items").

Save Product

After entering all basic data, click Save. The product will be created as a draft. You can now:

  1. Add Variants - Define sizes and colors
  2. Upload Images - Add product photos
  3. Assign Embellishments - Configure printing options
  4. Assign Categories - In which categories the product appears

After Creation

Activate Product

A new product is initially inactive. To make it visible in the shop:

  1. Open the product
  2. Set the status to Active
  3. Ensure at least one image is present
  4. Save the changes

Approval Workflow

Depending on the configuration, a new product may need to be approved before it appears in the shop. In this case:

  1. Create the product and fill in all fields
  2. Request approval
  3. After review, the product will be activated

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I edit a product later? Yes, you can change all fields at any time. Open the product and save your changes.

Can I delete a product? Products can be set to inactive to remove them from the shop. Complete deletion is possible but not recommended, as existing orders might refer to them.

How many products can I create? The number of products depends on your package. Details can be found under Subscription & Payment.
