Checkout & Payment
How the ordering process works in your Corporate Shop - from address entry to confirmation
Checkout & Payment
The ordering process guides your customers through clearly structured steps from address entry to order confirmation. This article explains each step in detail - for both end-customers and admins who want to configure the checkout process.
Prerequisites
Depending on the shop settings, the customer must:
- Be logged in - If the "Only for logged-in users" option is enabled
- Create an account - If the account system is active and guest orders are disabled
- Order as a guest - If guest orders are allowed (no registration required)
For Admins: You control these options under Shop Settings.
The Ordering Process Step by Step
Step 1: Email Address and Login
The checkout begins with customer identification:
- Logged-in customers - Are automatically recognized, this step is skipped
- New customers - Enter their email address and can register
- Guest order - Email address is requested, but no account is created (if allowed)
Step 2: Billing Address
The customer enters their billing address or selects a saved address:
- First name and last name
- Company (optional)
- Street and house number
- Postal code and city
- Country
- Phone number (optional)
Note: For customers assigned to a discount group, address data may be locked and must be changed by the admin.
Step 3: Shipping Address
The customer chooses where the order should be delivered:
- Same address as billing address - Default option
- Different shipping address - Enter own shipping address
- Pickup - If pickup addresses are configured, the customer can choose a pickup location
For pickup, entering a shipping address is omitted. Instead, the customer chooses from the available pickup addresses.
For Admins: You configure pickup addresses in the Shop Settings.
Step 4: Order Notes
The customer can leave optional notes regarding their order:
- Special delivery requests
- Internal reference numbers or cost centers
- Notes on finishing
Step 5: Shipping Method
The customer chooses one of the available shipping options:
- Standard shipping - Regular delivery
- Express shipping - Faster delivery (if available)
- Pickup - No shipping costs (if selected in the previous step)
For each option, the shipping costs and the estimated delivery time are displayed.
Step 6: Payment Method
The customer chooses their preferred payment method:
| Payment Method | Description |
|---|---|
| Credit Card / Debit Card | Immediate payment via Stripe (Visa, Mastercard etc.) |
| PayPal |
