Set Up Your Shop
Step-by-step guide to the initial setup of your Corporate Shop - shop name, description, contact details, and shop type
Set Up Your Shop
Before your Corporate Shop becomes visible to customers, you need to provide some basic information. This guide will walk you through the initial setup step-by-step - from the shop name to your contact details.
Prerequisites
Before you begin the setup, ensure that:
- You have successfully logged into the Corporate Admin
- Your shop subscription is active
- You have administrator rights
Step 1: Define Shop Name
The shop name is the most important identifier for your shop. It is displayed in the following places:
- In the header of your shop
- In the browser tab (page title)
- In emails to your customers
- In order confirmations and invoices
To define the shop name:
- Navigate to Settings > Shop
- Enter the desired name in the Shop name field
- Click Save
Tip: Choose a short, concise name that clearly reflects your company or brand. Avoid special characters or very long names.
Step 2: Add Shop Description
The shop description gives your customers a first impression of what to expect in your shop. It is displayed on the homepage and in search results.
Multilingual Description
softwear.prints supports multilingual shop descriptions. You can provide the description in different languages:
- Navigate to Settings > Shop
- Click on the Description field
- Select the desired language from the language selection menu
- Enter the description in the respective language
- Repeat the process for additional languages
- Click Save
The description will automatically be displayed to your customers in the appropriate language, if available. If no translation is available, the default language will be used.
Tip: Keep the description short and informative (2-3 sentences). Mention what products are offered and for whom the shop is intended.
Step 3: Define Strapline
The strapline (subtitle) is a short slogan or addition displayed directly below the shop name. It serves as a supplementary brief description.
- Navigate to Settings > Shop
- Enter your desired slogan in the Strapline field
- Click Save
Examples of straplines:
- "Your official teamwear shop"
- "Corporate fashion for our team"
- "Order club clothing conveniently"
Step 4: Choose Shop Type
The shop type determines how your shop is categorized and influences certain default settings. Choose the type that best suits your use case:
| Shop Type | Description | Typical Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| COMPANY | Company Shop | Companies offering workwear or merchandise for employees |
| ASSOCIATION | Association Shop | Sports clubs, clubs, or organizations with a member shop |
| BRAND | Brand Shop | Brands or labels selling their collection through their own shop |
| OTHER | Other Shop | All other use cases that do not fit into the above categories |
To choose the shop type:
- Navigate to Settings > Shop
- Under Shop Type, select the appropriate category from the dropdown menu
- Click Save
Note: The shop type can be changed at any time. It does not affect the available features of your shop.
Step 5: Provide Contact Details
Your contact details are displayed in the shop footer, on the contact page, and in emails. They allow your customers to reach you with questions or problems.
