Revenue Analysis
Track revenue development, analyze profits, and break down costs
Revenue Analysis
Revenue analysis gives you comprehensive insight into the financial development of your Corporate Shop. Track revenue trends over different periods, analyze your profit margins, and understand the composition of your costs. This report is the central tool for evaluating the economic success of your shop and making data-driven decisions.
Revenue Development Over Time
The core of revenue analysis is the revenue chart, which displays the development of your earnings as a line graph. This allows you to see at a glance how your revenue has developed over the selected period.
Display Options
You can view revenue development in different granularities:
- Daily - Ideal for short-term analyses and the last 7-30 days
- Weekly - Well suited for a monthly overview
- Monthly - Perfect for quarterly and annual analyses
- Annually - Long-term overview of overall development
Key Metrics
In the upper section of the revenue analysis, you will find the key metrics displayed as tiles:
- Total Revenue - Sum of all earnings in the selected period (gross)
- Net Revenue - Revenue minus returns, cancellations, and discounts
- Average Daily Revenue - Average revenue per day
- Change from Previous Period - Percentage deviation from the comparison period (e.g., current month vs. previous month)
Profit Analysis
Profit analysis shows you not only revenue but also the actual profitability of your shop.
Gross Profit
Gross profit results from net revenue minus direct product costs (purchase price, finishing costs). It shows you how profitable your product sales are in principle.
Calculation: Gross Profit = Net Revenue - Cost of Goods Sold - Finishing Costs
Profit Margin
The profit margin is displayed as a percentage and indicates what proportion of revenue remains as profit:
- Gross Margin over 50% - Very good profitability
- Gross Margin 30-50% - Solid margin
- Gross Margin under 30% - Optimization potential for purchase prices or sales prices
Profit Trend
A separate chart shows the development of your profit parallel to revenue. This allows you to see whether increasing revenues also lead to increasing profits or if costs are growing disproportionately.
Cost Breakdown
The detailed cost breakdown helps you understand where your money is going. Costs are divided into the following categories:
| Cost Category | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Cost of Goods Sold | Purchase price of products sold | Textiles, raw materials |
| Finishing Costs | Costs for printing, embroidery, etc. | Screen printing, digital printing |
| Shipping Costs | Costs for shipping to customers | Parcel service, freight forwarder |
| Payment Fees | Transaction costs of payment providers | Stripe fees, PayPal fees |
| Discounts | Granted discounts and redeemed vouchers | Volume discount, coupon code |
A pie chart visualizes the percentage distribution of cost types, so you can see at a glance which items account for the largest share.
Revenue by Periods
Compare your revenue over different periods to identify seasonal patterns and growth trends.
Period Comparison
The period comparison contrasts two timeframes:
- Current Period - The currently selected period
- Comparison Period - The previous period of the same length
For each comparison, you will see:
- Absolute revenue difference (e.g., +2,450 EUR)
- Percentage change (e.g., +12.3%)
- Graphical comparison of both periods in the same chart
Typical Comparison Periods
- Month vs. Previous Month - Short-term development
- Quarter vs. Previous Quarter - Medium-term trend
- Year vs. Previous Year - Long-term growth analysis
- Custom - Compare any periods with each other
